Dato' Ghazali Bin Mat Ariff

Chairman

Dato’ Ghazali Mat Ariff was an Advocate and Solicitor. He qualified as a Barrister-at Law from Lincoln’s Inn, London and was called to the English Bar on 21 November 1978. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 27 September 1979. He set up a legal firm under the name of Messrs. Ghazali Ariff & Partners in March 1980 and is currently the Senior Partner of the firm. From 1979 to 1980 he worked as a legal assistant at Messrs. Nik Hussain, Ibrahim & Abdullah, Kuala Lumpur. Prior to that, he was a college trained teacher at Chung Hwa Confucian High School Penang from 1962 to 1968.

Dato’ Ghazali was a lecturer at Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Teachers’ Training College Brunei Darussalam from 1968 to 1974. Apart from Amalgamated Industrial Steel Berhad, Dato’ Ghazali sits on the Board of Advanced Packaging Technology (M) Berhad. He also sits on the Board of several private limited companies. Dato’ Ghazali was the vice president of Jemaah Dato’-Dato’ Perlis. He was appointed as a Commissioner for Oaths from 1995 till 2005. From September 1995 to December 1999, he was the Honorary Vice Consul of the Republic of Finland in Kuala Lumpur. Dato’ Ghazali was also the Honorary Legal Advisor of Malaysia Thai Association from 1999 to 2002. He is currently the Honorary Life President of The Malay College Old Boys Association.

Dato' Ir. Mohd Azman Bin Shahidin

Dato’ Ir. Mohd Azman was a President or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd since November 2006 until December 2018. He graduated with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Glasgow University, United Kingdom in 1984. Prior to joining TPM, he has held and managed various key portfolios in reputable conglomerates such as MMC Corporation Berhad, Sunway Group Berhad and Messrs. Syed Muhammad, Hooi and Binnie Sdn. Bhd. (Consulting Engineers Firm).

Dato' Ir. Mohd Azman was also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Solution Engineering Holding Berhad, a public company listed on Bursa Malaysia (MESDAQ). He was also an Independent Non-Executive of TPM Investee Technology Companies namely Polytron Sdn. Bhd. and Kawalan Cecair Bhd. He is a member of the Malaysian Board of Engineers, Malaysia Instituition of Engineers and the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA).

Shahruddin Bin Othman

Mr. Shahruddin Othman was the alumnus of Sekolah Kebangsaan Putra and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Derma, Perlis. He was also the alumnus of University Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) as he graduated his Diploma and Bachelor Degree at UiTM Arau, Perlis. He began his career as Human Resources Officer (1976-1986), Head of Security and Human Resource (1980-1987), Senior Finance Executive (1980-1989), Head of Procurement Department (1989-1992), Head of Marketing Department (1993-1998), and Senior Business Manager (1998-2009) at Kilang Gula Felda Perlis, KGFP (known as MSM Holding Berhad).

Mr. Shahruddin was also a General Manager of International Marketing and Head of Trading Department (2009-2013) at MSM Holding Berhad. At the same time, he being appointed as Board of Directors and Advisor of Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Perlis for one term from 2004-2006. He mostly involved in international engagement such as World Sugar Conference, quarterly meeting with South East Asia and Australia Sugar Producer, and yearly Sugar Dinner in London with world sugar producer.

Hirman Bin Awang @ Semail

Mr. Hirman Awang is the Director of the Holistic Student Division (N54), Department of Higher Education and at the same time, he holds the position of Head, Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Value Creation & Enterprise) since December 2021. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (BA) from Univerisiti Malaya (2003). Mr. Hirman has been involved in many programmes/role such as the Presenter of UM's best practices on 100% student run election programmes, Paper Presenter of National University Co-Curricular Conference (NUCC 2019), Coordinator of official UM press statement on crisis/issues arises. and so forth.

Prior to those appointment, Mr. Hirman held the internal position as Head of Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development) since December 2020 to November 2021, Acting Head of Corporate Communication Office (March 2020 - November 2020), Head of Graduate Employability, Entrepreneurship and Student Development Centre (January 2020) and so on. Besides, Mr. Hirman also held the external position as Lead Consultant (Strategic Management & Training), Aducktive Food Sdn. Bhd. (2021 - Now) and Secretary for Leadership and Training Council for Public Universities (bette known as MAKLUM) since 2013 to 2018.

Kamarulzaman Bin Ahmad

Mr. Kamarulzaman Ahmad is currently the Head of Corporate Ventures for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). He also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Board Member for MBSB Bank Bhd. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) (Honours) Degree in Electrical and Electronics from Imperial College, London, United Kingdom from 1994-1997. Previously, he was the Head of Strategy and Business Development for AirAsia.com, the digital arm of AirAsia Group, and the Managing Director of Endeavor Malaysia, a non-profit organsation that creates High Impact Entrepreneurs.

Prior to his non-profit work, he was the CEO of the CaterhamJet Malaysia project since April 2013. He built his wealth of aviation experience during his tenure with AirAsia, which began in September 2010. He held various positions in AirAsia including the Regional Head of Customer Experience where he led the front-line customer service staff of the AirAsia Group. Before AirAsia, he served with the Malaysian national petroleum giant PETRONAS for 13 years. His last position in PETRONAS was as Head of Technical Services at PETRONAS Ammonia in Terengganu, Malaysia.

Prof. Dato' Ts. Dr. Zaliman Bin Sauli

Prof. Zaliman Sauli graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He then continued his studies at the Master's level in the field of Advanced Semiconductor Materials & Devices at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom and Doctor of Philosophy level in the field of Microelectronics Engineering at UniMAP. Career Prof. Zaliman started at MIMOS in 1992 to 2002 where his last position was as Wafer Fabrication Product Manager and Training Service Manager. He joined UniMAP on 09 January 2003 where he was appointed as the Dean of the Communication and Entrepreneurship Skills Center (P3K), Director of the Industrial Network Center, Dean of the Microelectronics Engineering School, Director of the Co-Curriculum Center and Dean of the Graduate School.

Prof. Zaliman has also been trusted by the KPT to assume the responsibilities as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student & Alumni Affairs) of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan for a period of 3 years starting from 15 March 2018 to 14 March 2021. He has published more than 200 WoS/Scopus indexed Journals and Proceedings as lead author and co-author where he has also been a researcher in 16 research grants as lead researcher and co-researcher. He is a very active person as he joined the Territorial Army since 2003 until now. Starting on August 9, 2021, Prof. Zaliman has been trusted by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) as the new Vice Chancellor of UniMAP.

Md. Rijaluddin Bin Mohd Salleh

Mr. Rijaluddin holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Leeds, England and a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from ACCA. Prior to joining MTD Capital Bhd Group (MTD Group), he served at Public Work Department of Malaysia and PROPEL Berhad between 1983-1998. He was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Metacorp Berhad which was involved in Toll Highway, Property Development and Zinc Oxide Manufacturing. At the same time, he held the position of General Manager (Toll Concession) as well as Executive Director for MTD Infra Perdana Bhd, in-charged of Highway Operation in Malaysia and India.

He is the Senior General Manager, Head, Group Compliance & General Services Division for MTD Group and also a Director/Exco for E-Idaman Sdn Bhd, a JV Company with Khazanah Malaysia on the privatizations of solid waste operation in the North of Malaysia. He is also a Director of a public listed company in Sri Lanka and also Director of several private limited companies involving a wide range of business in Malaysia and United Kingdom.
